The Apache Junction Founders Day Committee meets 6-8 p.m. the first Thursday of every month ---including June 4 --- at the Apache Junction Public Library, 1177 N. Idaho Road.

"Well, I am excited to announce that we are able to meet again --- should you feel comfortable venturing out," Committee Chair Braden Biggs said in a release. "We will be at the Apache Junction Public Library, but will not be in our normal room. We will be meeting in the back of the Mountain View Room, which is located in the back of the book stacks in the main part of the library."

Apache Junction was founded by George Curtis and was settled in 1922.

The centennial of that decision is approaching and volunteers have begun meeting to plan a year-long celebration for 2022.
