Baseline closed between Winchester and Tomahawk roads starting Nov. 2 for repaving
Posted
East Baseline Avenue will be partially closed starting Nov. 2 as it is repaved and gets other improvements between Winchester and Tomahawk roads.
The street will be open to local business traffic only. The closure is expected to last until Nov. 19. Detour for through traffic will be on Southern Avenue, according to a release.
Repaving will include the strengthening of the road base. Bike lanes will be added along with a change in the roadway’s alignment from Royal Palm Road to Tomahawk Road to improve its approaches to the Weekes Wash bridge and Tomahawk intersection.
Drivers are encouraged to take extra time, be patient and cautious in navigating the work zone and watch for the safety of road workers, the release states.
Any questions related to this project should be directed to the Apache Junction Public Works Department at 480-982-1055.
