Florence Arts and Culture Festival Oct. 3-4
The festival will be on North Main Street, between Ruggles Street and 11th Street. This section will be closed to vehicle traffic, with exception of load-in and load-out of the festival. An information booth, manned by festival volunteers, will be on the corner of the Main and Ninth. Maps will be included prior to the festival.
The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce hosts the Florence Arts and Culture Festival 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 3-4 along historic Main Street.
"At this event, there are numerous opportunities for artists, food and beverage vendors, as well as musicians and dancers," according to a release.
"Main Street is the backdrop for the stage as we embark on a family friendly weekend of art and culture through mediums of various types such as watercolor, acrylic, oil, glass, wood, ceramics, sculpture, fiber art, mixed media, metal, drawing and photography," it states.
The elements of artistic expression will come to life during live dance and musical performances. This festival is also incorporating hands-on demonstrations and is to have an area for children to participate in making things as well.
Artists can register for the festival at zapplication.org/event-info.php?ID=8371, where they may submit an online application and payment to participate in this event.
"In lieu of the COVID 19 situation, in order to keep costs at a minimum, we are lowering the artist-vendor fee from $175 to $100 for our two-day festival," Sherri Crosslin, special events director for the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, said in an e-mail.
