Art studios tour March 21-22 in Gold Canyon, Apache Junction

Posted

The Third Annual Spring Fling Studio Tour is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 21, and Sunday March 22, in Apache Junction and Gold Canyon.

The Artists of the Superstitions event features 67 juried artists in 17 studios, according to a release.

"This free self-guided tour is like our Fall Studio Tour, which has become an anticipated event for art lovers since it began in 2007. We are anticipating that the Spring Studio Tour will become as popular as well," the release states.

"The tours allow you to visit many of the artists’ studios, which are close to each other scattered in front of the awesome Superstitions Mountains," it states.

The juried artists offer their creativity in clay, fabric, glass, gourds, jewelry, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, wood and more.

"This gives you a wonderful time to just relax and spend the weekend in the Gold Canyon/Apache Junction area, driving roads less traveled, visiting studios, meeting with the artists and watching them demonstrate their creativity. While visiting each studio, take some time to really see the artworks these artists create and you might find a special piece that speaks to you," the release states.

Maps are available from the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce, 567 W. Apache Trail; the Gold Canyon Visitors Center, 6607 S. Kings Ranch Road; businesses around Gold Canyon and Apache Junction; and at artistsofthesuperstitions.com.

The map includes the addresses of each studio on the tour, the names of the artists and each artist’s special medium.
