A virtual retreat in the morning and an organizational meeting in the afternoon — both Jan. 8 — have been slated by the Apache Junction Unified School District Governing Board.
At 10:30 a.m. Friday the Governing Board will meet in the Board Room at 1575 W. Southern Ave., with members attending in person or by telephone, video or Internet conference. A district and departments overview; board roles and responsibilities discussion with Julie Bacon of the Arizona School Board Association; board operations presentation by AJUSD Superintendent Dr. Krista Anderson; and board goals presentation by Dr. Anderson are on the agenda.
The 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Zoom webinar is for Gilbert Cancio and Bobby Bauders, the new two members of the AJUSD Governing Board. Those who want to attend should come to the AJUSD District Office, according to the school district’s website.
At 3:30 p.m. Friday the Governing Board will meet in the Performing Art Center, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive, with members attending in person or by telephone, video or Internet conference. Voting on a board president and vice president, and approval of a board meetings schedule and locations for 2021 are on the agenda.
