Due to scheduled electrical work, the Apache Junction Public Library will close on Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17.
The library, 1177 N. Idaho Road, is closed on Sundays, but will reopen during its regular hours on Monday, May 19.
The closure will allow for city contractors to safely remove and replace the distribution board 1 service entrance section which has been in place since the library was built in 1986.
The library’s electrical SES is essential for the building’s operation, and the city is replacing it as it has reached the end of its life cycle. The project was approved by the Apache Junction City Council at the Dec. 17, 2024, city council meeting.
During the closure, library patrons can access AJPL’s digital collections of audiobooks, comics, manga, magazines, and streaming music at ajpl.org/digital-collections.
