Two city-initiated rezonings for properties on North Ironwood and North Palo Verde drives will be discussed Tuesday by the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 in the City Council Chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.

Items on the agenda are:

  • a presentation, discussion, public hearing and consideration of a proposed city-initiated corrective rezoning of 210 N. Ironwood Drive, near the northwest corner of Ironwood and Apache Trail, from a split zoning of recreational vehicle park and general commercial to general commercial. The change will allow the entire property to be developed under commercial standards as intended by the original zoning designation.
  • a presentation, discussion, public hearing and consideration of a proposed city-initiated corrective rezoning of 151 and 183 N. Palo Verde Drive, near the northeast corner of Palo Verde and Apache Trail, from medium density single-family detached residential to high-density multiple-family residential. The change will allow the usage of multi-family housing as intended by the original zoning designation.
