Apache Junction Mounted Rangers to hold celebration of life for 10 who have died

Posted

The Apache Junction Mounted Rangers group has scheduled a remembrance for members who have died.

The Apache Junction Mounted Rangers are a group of nearly 100 folks who spend time and money putting smiles on the faces of Apache Junction children.

When a ranger passes away, the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers have a memorial to celebrate the life of the ranger who has passed.

The group has lost 10 members over the last few years or so and we are going to have a “celebration of life” for all 10 members at 11 a.m. April 30 at the Apache Junction Rodeo Grounds, Tomahawk Road and Lost Dutchman Boulevard.

All family and friends of the fallen rangers are welcome to join us for this important service.

Due to COVID-19 we were not able to hold our memorial services as we would in normal times. Those who will be memorialized are: Ranger David Goodrum, Ranger Clara Ault, Ranger Dale Thurber, Ranger Gene Gapa, Ranger Paul Kuna, Ranger Marvin Jakes, Ranger Ron St. John, Ranger Conrad Peterson, Ranger Dale Erickson and Ranger John Stanton.

Apache Junction Mounted Rangers

The Apache Junction Mounted Rangers is a local group that acts as a peacekeeping group. It supports organizations by raising funds at events such as the Lost Dutchman Days Rodeo.

The group is always looking for new volunteers and charitable organizations to donate to. Go to ajmountedrangers.org.

Editor’s note: Liz Rizzo Sterba is a member of the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers.
