Two events are planned on Veterans Day in Apache Junction.
The annual Veterans Day Parade on Apache Trail, starting at the Focal Point, begins at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 11, with a flyover and patriotic floats.
Following the parade is the Festival of the Superstitions, presented by the Apache Junction Area Chamber of Commerce. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Flatiron Community Park, 100 N. Apache Trail, in the shadows of the Superstition Mountains.
Dogs are welcome but must stay on leash throughout the event, according to organizers.
Music will be playing throughout the day, and the festival will include food vendors.
There also will be pony rides and a pie-eating contest for the kids.
A car show will include bikes, and the top vehicles will be awarded a prize. The proceeds from the show will go to the Chamber of Commerce scholarship program.
