Apache Junction council to discuss code restrictions related to feeding pigeons

Posted

The enforceability of code restrictions related to feeding pigeons will be discussed at Monday’s Apache Junction City Council work session.

The council meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 in the council chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.

The cities of Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale and Phoenix prohibit pigeon feeding, according to a city of Apache Junction document titled “Pigeon Feeding on Residential Property."

Mesa city code states: “No person shall knowingly provide bird food to pigeons on any private or public property, except the feeding of birds using practices or devices designed or intended to prevent pigeons from obtaining the bird food,” according to the city of Apache Junction document.
