Annual wellness expo Saturday in Apache Junction

The Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with wellness advocates to produce "Heal Yourself, Heal Your World," which is celebrating its 14th year.

The event 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Apache Junction Multi-generational Center, 1035 N. Idaho Road, brings together healers and wellness providers in the community and offers samples, free classes, donation stations (canned food, books, eye glasses, cell phones, etc.) and more, according to a release.

Come discover what the community has to offer. The event is free; it is suggested that all bring a canned food donation.

There will be a free family 2-mile fun run. This run/walk will be on the trail system adjacent to the Apache Junction Multi-generational Center. It will be easy and fun enough for families to participate together. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. and the run/walk will begin at 8:30 a.m.

This year’s event will have free educational and fitness classes, such as on nutrition, essential oils, yoga, funeral planning, fitness, Zumba, Tabatta, kindness-rock painting and many more.  A complete list of classes is available at ajcity.net/wellness.

The Vitalant --- formerly United Blood Services --- blood mobile will be on-site. Go to BloodHero.com (sponsor code: AJMGC) to sign up for a time to donate blood and save a life.

To keep healthy all year long, all MGC memberships will be discounted by 15%.

For information, call the Apache Junction Multi-generational Center at 480-474-5240 orgo to  ajcity.net/wellness.
