Apache Junction Unified School District has hired Sue Paschal as director of human resources and Erin Preston as director of special education.
“The Apache Junction Unified School District is thrilled to announce the addition of two highly accomplished professionals to our leadership team,” it states in a release. “Their extensive experience and passion for education will be instrumental in driving our district’s mission forward.”

Preston joins AJUSD with a background in education, encompassing 18 years of classroom experience across general and special education from preschool through high school. Over the last three years, she has transitioned into a leadership role, demonstrating a strong commitment to advocating for special education students, the release states.
She has a master of arts degree in special education with a focus on cross categorical from University of Phoenix and a bachelor of arts degree in business administration. She is pursuing a doctoral degree in educational leadership with a specialization in K-12 administration (EDD) from Northern Arizona University.
“Erin’s dedication to special education and her comprehensive experience makes her a valuable addition to our district,” the release states.

Paschal brings to AJUSD 30 years of experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher, elementary principal, and academic preschool director in various districts including Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Mesa and San Tan Valley.
“Her diverse background and leadership skills will be pivotal in enhancing our human resources department,” the release states.
She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and elementary education from Pittsburg State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.
“In her new role, Sue aims to foster a culture of compassion, collaboration, and inclusivity, ensuring that every member of the AJUSD community feels valued and supported,” the release states.
“We are excited to welcome these two new leaders to our team and look forward to the positive impact they will have on our schools and community,” the release states.
