AJUSD curbside food service to end June 29

Posted

The Apache Junction Unified School District curbside service that provides free food for children 18 and younger will end Monday, June 29.

Those who show up on June 29 will receive two days’ worth of breakfast and lunch items that can be prepared at home, according to a release.

The service will be available at:

  •  8:30-10 a.m. at Apache Junction High School, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive in Apache Junction.
  • 9-10 a.m. at Four Peaks Elementary School, 1795 N. Idaho Road in Apache Junction.

Children must be in the car or parents must provide proof of having children at home to receive the items.

Participants are asked to pull in at the drive east of the football field on Southern and follow the drive around the field to the cafeteria, just under the Davis Field sign. To access the FPES service participants are asked to pull up to the student drop off driveway to receive their items.

Another food program, Farm to Family Food Boxes, will continue on Thursdays until further notice. Gallons of milk will also be available for families in July.

Registration for all new students who wish to enroll in Apache Junction Unified School District schools is being accepted online at all school locations. For more information about AJUSD or its schools or departments, go to ajusd.org.
