2025 Arizona Lecture Series in Apache Junction begins in January

The Arizona Lecture Series at the Apache Junction Performing Arts Center that introduces the rich culture and history of the state continues in 2025.

This year, two distinguished speakers are to discuss topics related to Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day, providing diverse perspectives beyond Arizona’s history. These two presentations will run on the Tuesday following the holiday for MLK and Presidents Day. There will be no lectures on those holidays, as well as Monday, March 17, according to a release.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with each lecture starting at 7 p.m. Season tickets are available for $75 ( $100 after Jan. 1) per ticket at the District office or at https://ajpac.ludus.com/passes.php. You can also purchase season tickets in person at the Performing Arts Center at Apache Junction High School, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive.

Each lecture ticket will be sold one week in advance online starting Jan. 1 at $10 per ticket. For questions, call Cheryl King-Anderson at 480-982-1110 ext. 2250.

  • Jan. 27 – Leo W. Banks, “Louis Victor Eytinge”
  • Feb. 3 – Nancy Earhart Burt, “Amelia Earhart”
  • Feb. 10 – Gregory McNamee, “Arizona Place Names”
  • Feb. 18 – Ken Sorensen, “Abraham Lincoln” (Tuesday lecture)
  • Feb. 24 – Daphene Davis, “Arizona Merci Train Boxcar”
  • March 3 – Jan Cleere, “Military Wives in Arizona Territory”
  • March 10 – Chris Reed, “Arizona Snake Oil Salesmen”
