2 ‘unresponsive’ proposals received for development of 10 acres in downtown Apache Junction

Posted

Two proposals for development of 10 acres of city of Apache Junction owned property that were unresponsive due to missing documentation are to be discussed by the City Council Tuesday.

The Apache Junction City Council meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 4 in the council chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd., to in part hear the presentation.

The city of Apache Junction purchased the 10 acres for nearly $3 million to help develop the property near the site of the old Grand Hotel.

On Nov. 6, 2024, the city issued a request for proposal for the sale or ground lease and development of city-owned land, Purchasing Administrator Sherell Waskiewicz said in a memo to the council.

“On Jan. 9, 2025, the city received two responses: LDG Development and Old West Welding Service. Staff reviewed the responses and found that both submissions were unresponsive due to missing documentation,” it states. “Staff respectfully request approval to reject all responses for RFP 2024-006.”
