Posted
Embry Health has had a 10-fold increase in the demand for COVID-19 testing since July 1.
The business operates more than 50 COVID-19 testing sites in Arizona, including in the parking lot at Mesa Community College, 1833 W. Southern Ave. in Mesa.
On July 1 Embry Health had just over 1,000 testing appointments. By Aug. 18, that number rose to more than 11,000, according to a release.
The sharp increase parallels the spread of the Delta variant, the release states.
As of Aug. 19, Embry Health has provided 2.1 million COVID-19 tests to Arizonans at more than 100 locations including 12 mobile clinics for vaccinations and testing. More than 200,000 tests have been done from July 1 to Aug. 18, the release states.
