Calling all youth stage performers:
The Musical Theatre of Anthem will kick off its 2021-22 season this summer and is asking the public’s help in finding youth actors and actresses to perform in the group’s eight shows.

The shows, which range from “Singin’ in the Rain Jr.” to “Seussical,” which features a story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school.

Some  shows - such as “101 Dalmations Kids” - call for child performers age 6 and up. The casting call for other shows like “Shrek Jr.” asks that performers be age 8 to 18.

Auditions start July 7.

The Musical Theatre of Anthem is an award-winning, nonprofit theater company that develops youth and adults within the field of performing arts.

“It certainly has been an unusual year,” said Jackie Hammond, the group’s producing artistic director. “I am incredibly grateful for all of the support from everyone involved at MTA and am very excited to head into our fabulous 14th season. We are really looking forward to bringing large-scale productions to life on stage.”
