Wanda Canaday Talcott Ingram

Wanda passed away on the morning of January 31, 2021, after recently being diagnosed with leukemia. She died peacefully, surrounded by her husband, Jared, and nieces and nephews from both the Talcott and Canaday sides of her family.
Wanda was born in 1928 to Togo and Maude Canaday in Independence, MO and later moved to Hammond, IN, where her brother, Carlton, was born. She graduated from Hammond High School and attended Graceland College (now University) in Lamoni, IA, where she met her husband, Hal Talcott. She later earned her bachelor of arts in mass communications. Hal and Wanda married in 1947, and their son, Marty Talcott, was born in 1950. were together for nearly 60 years. They lived in many places throughout the U.S. during their nearly 60-year marriage and settled in Sun City, AZ after retirement. Hal passed away in 2006, and Marty tragically and unexpectedly passed away in 2007. In 2008, Wanda married Jared Ingram.
Wanda was actively engaged throughout her life and wherever she lived. She was co-owner of a communications and management consulting firm (CAM Consulting) as well as a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother. She was an ordained minister in the Community of Christ Church and served on the Board of Regents for Graceland University. She was also an avid golfer, hiker, and a former member of the Sun City, AZ Hikers Club.
Wanda is survived by her husband Jared Ingram, her brother Carlton W. Canaday, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Wanda was deeply loving and dedicated to her family and friends and was a caretaker for many. She was sincerely loved and will be sorely missed.
