Arizona group to perform December concerts

Posted

Festive and cheerful music awaits as a group of local musicians will host December concerts to help get residents into the holiday spirit.

ProMusica Arizona will present concerts in Phoenix and Sun City that include “traditional festive holiday fare as well as works by Arizona composers” to help kick off the holiday season.

“Included are arrangements of well-known Christmas carols by ProMusica’s own Aaron Smith (tenor section leader), Frank Darmiento (trombone), and Dana Graybeal (retired music teacher at Thunderbird High School and Phoenix College). Also included is holiday music celebrated by a number of cultures in “Winter Celebrations,” by Arizona composer Craig Bohmler of “Riders of the Purple Sage” fame and ProMusica Arizona friend.

“An Arizona Holiday” is sure to delight the whole family,” according to a press release.
At 7 p.m. on Dec. 4., the group will play at Barry Goldwater High School Performing Arts Center, 2820 W. Rose Garden Ln., Phoenix.

At 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 5., the group will be in Sun City at American Lutheran Church, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd, Sun City.

Children 15 and younger are free with a paid adult. Free student rush tickets are available 15 minutes before each performance based on seating availability, the press release said.

Groups of 10 or more for a concert will receive a 10% discount.
