Copeland: Calls for new candidate for 2024 election

Posted

Regarding the recent article, (“AP FACT CHECK: Proven falsehoods retold at event,” YourValley.net, July 26, 2021), I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020, but I’ve heard the reason he lost in 2020 was because he didn’t know when to keep his big mouth shut, and many Republicans who voted for him in 2016 did not vote for anyone in 2020.

When they were recounting ballots in Arizona, I wonder if anyone noticed how many ballots had no check mark for president? Trump lost because some Republicans withheld their vote for president in 2020. If he ever runs for office again, I will be with that non-voting crowd.

I don’t believe he incited the riots at the White House on Jan. 6, but I think he could have voiced his disapproval sooner and stopped them. He chose to remain silent too long — bad decision on his part.

Trump is now a presidential has-been. We need a better Republican candidate in 2024.
