Brczki: Reader does not appreciate July 4 noise

Posted

I want to thank the 80-plus-year-old grandparents whose grandchildren came once again to our street to set off 4-plus hours of firecrackers.

I can see that the grandparents have not taught these adult grandchildren much since last year and their brains have not matured since then. They are taught that it is fun to set off firecrackers in front of the houses of the elderly who have worked a lifetime for peace and quiet in this community and who are ill.

The adult grandchildren could drive just a few miles and see the fireworks at Peoria. But no, it is the elderly they want to annoy.

Over the years there have been police at the grandparents’ home, loud bad language emanating from the home and constant comings and goings.

But the fireworks are their specialty.

I wonder what the grandparents would do if all our grandchildren descended on the street in front of their home and shoot off very loud noises and carry on like they do.
