Crusaders’ Bourland backed by voters in Week 11

Senior linebacker Levi Bourland was the second Northwest Christian player in three weeks to be voted as the player of the week.

Bourland had five tackles, two fumble recoveries and one fumble return touchdown in a 56-12 rout of Chino Valley Oct. 26.

He finished with 201 votes – of  a total of 424 votes cast – to win the award.

Peoria senior tailback Juwaun Price finished second with 98 votes for his performance in the Monsoon 37-31 win in its rivalry game against Cactus.

Price finished that night with 27 carries for 297 yards five touchdowns.

Liberty sophomore quarterback Brock Mast finished third for the second straight with 86 votes for his performance against Scottsdale Chaparral.

In the convincing win in Scottsdale, Mast made his second start, completing 16 of 24 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. He added three short yardage rushing touchdowns.

For the third straight year, player of the week honorees, including Bourland, will win more than bragging rights.
